About PASCH-net
The PASCH-net initiative is a worldwide network for schools that aims to awaken interest and enthusiasm for Germany and motivate young people to learn German.
Briefing
In April 2020, I took part in a competition announced by PASCH-net. The initiative had recently received a website relaunch and was looking for a suitable graphic language for its visuals, which should appeal primarily to a youth target group aged 10–18.
Implementation
I wanted the illustrations to be easy to understand and quick to comprehend in any language, so I decided to keep the level of abstraction low and instead stay close to a figurative image. My suggestion was to pick up the existing colour palette and work with clear, vector-based shapes outlined with black lines. Black shadows and pattern areas give the illustrations an additional recognition value. At a later stage, I designed a complementary colour palette that now offers the initiative more varied design options.
